Metochi Chromitsa Red Wine is made from the combination of the indigenous Greek grape variety Limnio 40% and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Greece 60%, a Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) wine, produced in vineyards of Mount Athos, the monastic District in North Greece, a region of long wine making tradition, with hand-picked harvested method. The unique microclimate of Mt. Athos – near perfect to create a truly ‘grand vin’. Metochi has scarlet colour, rich aromas of forest fruits and sweet spices notes from the barrel. Intense and generous presence of the Cabernet Sauvignon with a velvety texture that marks the Limnio with impressive but silky tannins and subtlety integrated barrique tones. Powerful and opulent on the palate with aromatic and full-flavoured finish and ABV 13.5%. Exquisite with steak au poivre, roasted lamb ribs, duck in caramelised sauce, game and full-flavoured cheeses. Vintage 2015. Best served at 18 -20°C.
