Mavrodaphne Cellar Reserve is a dessert red wine, made of 100% Mavrodaphne of Patras grapes in small vineyards around Corinthian Gulf. It is a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) Aa highly distinctive elegant after dessert wine of great complexity. A deep chestnut colour and exquisite bouquet marked by the aromas of dried raisins and figs with just a hint of coffee and vanilla. On the palate, wonderful flavours of dried raisins, dates and figs, toasted beans and spices. As it ages further, it will acquire an increased smoothness and its bouquet will become more harmonious and complex. Full-bodied, well structured, lingering aromas, with an alluring finish. A wonderful accompaniment to sweet or bold flavours, such as dark chocolate or blue cheese. An excellent match for marzipan, vanilla ice cream, pecan pie and carrot cake, ABV 18%. Best served at 16-17 °C as an after dinner drink, on its own or with a selection of desserts.
